About the department
The obstetrics & gynaecology department cares for women through pregnancy and childbirth, and for women's health at every age — from period problems in teenage years to menopause.
Regular check-ups during pregnancy help keep both mother and baby safe. Ultrasound scans, laboratory tests, a Blood Centre, operation theatre and 24/7 emergency care are available in the hospital, so a high-risk pregnancy or an emergency during delivery can be handled without delay.
We support normal delivery wherever it is safe, and perform a caesarean section when it is the safer option for mother or baby. Every decision is explained to the family.
